Kwara State Police Command has arrested 2 suspects for cutting off the head and hands of a young lady for ritual purposes in Offa Local Government Area.
Spokesman of the command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi in a statement said on the September 14, one Rianat Yusuf of Amuyo area, Offa in Kwara State left her home on an errand and did not return.
According to the statement a case of missing person was reported at Offa Divisional Police Headquarters by her father, Yusuf Taofeek.
It said investigation into the matter led to the discovery of a headless body of a young lady with her hands missing at an uncompleted building at Amuyo area in Offa, which was later identified by the father to be that of the missing girl.
The statement explained that further investigation led to the arrest of one Femi Adeniji who confessed to be in possession of the head and hands of the deceased Rianat Yusuf.
The suspect further confessed that he had sold one of the hands to his accomplice who is presently at large for the sum of N20,000.
Accord to the Police Command, the second suspect Shittu Abdulmalik Wale, Offa, also confessed to have used the second hand of the deceased for ‘money making soap’.
The statement says the two suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
