Katsina State Police Command says it has arrested five persons suspected to be supplying petrol to bandits in forests.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Gambo Isah made this known in a statement on Monday.
Gambo said on the 18th of September, 2021, based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting one Lawal Shu’aibu 32 from Maradi, Niger Republic, conveying fuel in a Passat vehicle.
The Command said other suspects arrested include Shafi’u Haruna 25 of Anguwan Nakaba village, Sabuwa Local Government, Abdulrashid Garba 50, of Daddara village. Jibia Local Government.
Also, Tigal Haruna 57 of Kofar Guga Quarters, Katsina and Sani Lawal 28 of Magamar Jibia.
The PRO stated that the suspects confessed to be selling fuel on fringes of the forest, contrary to the executive order and other extant laws of the Federation.
The command said it has also arrested two persons alleged to have vandalized and stolen cables from a transformer in Bindawa Local Government Area of the state.
