A student of Plateau State Polytechnic Jos has died from a gunshot wound he sustained from a stray bullet during yesterday’s protest at the Jos campus of the Polytechnic.
State Commissioner for Information and Communication Dan Manjang who confirmed the development noted that the state government has directed an immediate and thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the death.
While commiserating with the family of the deceased student, the commissioner noted that anyone found culpable in the death of the student would not be spared by the government who is determined to ensure that justice is done.
Meanwhile the Deputy Governor of the state Prof. Sonni Tyoden has directed a Government delegation to visit the family of the deceased and sympathise with them over the sad situation.
