The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has taken over the Ilorin mansion of the immediate past governor of  Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed over a N5 billion debt.

The action was carried out by Barrister Robert Ohuoba, one of the leading Asset Management Partners (AMPs) of AMCON.

Confirming the incident, Head, Corporate Communications Department of AMCON, Mr Jude Nwauzor in a statement explained that this was a  personal debt owed by the former Governor.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the development followed the order of Justice Muhammed Liman of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, who also ordered the freezing of bank accounts of the former governor and 2 of his companies.

When contacted, the former governor’s Media Aide, Muideen Akorede said the issue was a result of a minor disagreement.
