CJN Games kicks off in Bayelsa

The annual Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Sports Competition has formally commenced in Yenagoa.

The 27th edition of the games is a competition organised by National Sports Association for Judiciary.

The bodies are taking part in 11 sporting events in the Fiesta billed to end September 30.

The Games at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in the Bayelsa State capital.

Declaring the games open, the CJN, Justice Tanko Mohammed urged judicial workers to be actively involved in sports to avert health challenges.

The CJN urged participants to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship.

The President of the National Sports Association for Judiciary, Mr Emeka Ndili applauded Bayelsa State for hosting the event.


The Secretary to the State Government, Friday Konbowei-Benson pledged the Administration’s readiness to invest in Sports Development.

The National Judicial Institute clinched the first medal of the competition in a march past.

In the opening football match, hosts Team Bayelsa upset the Supreme Court Team by a goal to nothing.
