Chief of Army Staff seeks partnership with traditional leaders

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya has paid a courtesy visit to the Alake of Egbaland for a cooperation of the military with traditional rulers towards the sustenance of peace and security.

Gen. Yahaya at the palace of the paramount ruler of Egba land, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo in Abeokuta explained that traditional rulers had a strategic role at the grassroot to support the military and security agencies with intelligence to arrests threats.

The monarch, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo commended the move of the Chief of Army Staff by putting strategy on the ground to address insecurity by cooperating with other stakeholders like traditional leaders.

Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by the Secretary to the State Government of Ogun, Mr Tokunboh Talabi reaffirmed the continuous cooperation of the state with the military and other security agencies for the good of all residents.

Senior Officers of the military in attendance included the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Major General Lawrence Fejokwu, Chief of Operations, Maj Gen. Olufemi Akinjobi and the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade Brigadier General Adewale Adekoya.
