Members of the Pantaker Business Association, Nyanya have called on the Federal Government and the National Assembly to intervene in the demolition in their business area as their only source of livelihood.
They also urged the Government to provide an alternative place for them to carry out their businesses if the FCTA was interested in the area they were occupying.
The appeal became necessary due to the recent demolition by the FCT Ministerial Committee on City Sanitation.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr Bala Yinusa said they acquired and registered the land at the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Mr Bala Yinusa said over two thousand youths do various businesses in the area.
A member of the Association, Felix Micheal said that there shops were demolished without receiving prior notice.
He stressed that there were no criminals in the place as alleged by the Ministerial committee.
Another member, Abdullazeez Shittu explained that he was an NCE holder but could not secure any job and was pushing truck before someone at the Pantaker employed him as a secretary.
