Kano partners UNICEF to provide oxygen in hospitals

The Kano State Ministry of Health says the provision of medical oxygen, and other equipment in Government facilities across the State is aimed at saving the lives of the people.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mrs Amina Musa stated this during a stakeholders engagement workshop on Medical Oxygen System Organized by the Ministry in Kano.

She said the state health sector encountered a lot of medical oxygen challenges especially during the peak period of Covid-19 pandemic, and that of juice poisoning at Government facilities.

The Permanent Secretary explained that the collaboration with UNICEF and other Developing Partners became necessary to fine-tune modalities of providing the needed Medical Oxygen across the hospitals in the state.

“We had challenges especially During Covid-19 pandemic and you know Oxygen is part of life, all the hospitals and isolation centers needed medical oxygen and it was not available, that’s why Kano state Government set up a committee on Oxygen Supply to find solutions to the Challenges” Mrs Amina Musa.
