Representative of former chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, Lt Gen Lamidi Adeosun receives the plaque for the Lifetime Achievement Award given to the former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, in Ikeja, Lagos.
Former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, (Rtd) on Sunday bagged a Lifetime achievement award by Global Excellence Magazine.
Lt. Gen. Buratai was represented by former Chief of Army Plans and policy Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun at the event held at the Baimoral Hall, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
The award was a reward for his contributions to the social, economic and security development of the country.
The ceremony highlighted a range of activities initiated during Gen. Buratai tenure in support of developing the Army to include the establishment of the Nigerian Army University Biu, Borno State; Command Secondary School (Boys & Girls) in Kebbi State.
Others are Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar at Jaji Airstrip, Kaduna; Mines Resistance Armour Protected Vehicles(MRAP); Activation of Divisions Training Schools; Tinapa Post Housing Development Limited Estate, Calabar; Army Warrant Officers Board; the Nigerian Army Special Forces School.
Also, the First Nigerian Army indigenous infantry patrol vehicles Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command and the Nigerian Army Vehicle Manufacturing Company as well as Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches, to mention but a few.
The colourful ceremony was attended by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle, Tegbosun III, the Oluwu of Kuta Kingdom of Osun State, His Royal Majesty Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle, the Elemuren of Emurenland in Remo, Ogun State.
Others at the Event were Commodore Mathew Bolaji (Rtd) Chairman of 29 Regular Course (Nigerian Defence Academy) Foundation, Brigadier Gen. CS Uwah(Rtd) mni, Brigadier Gen. Sani Usman Kukasheka (rtd) mni former Director Army Public Relations and Alhaji Mohammed Malgwi Deputy Director, General Services Nigerian Shippers Council.
