Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Mr Terver Akase has resigned from his position to contest for the 2023 governorship of the State.
Mr Akase, accompanied by his wife, presented his resignation letter to his boss, Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday before he proceeded to address a press conference at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi.
Mr Akase whose campaign slogan is “Benue Peoples Project,” told journalists that if elected Governor, his administration will focus on security, agriculture, job creation, education health and infrastructure as well as the welfare of workers.

Speaking on insinuations that he does not have the experience to govern the State, the governorship hopeful on the platform of the PDP said having worked as a correspondent with Radio Nigeria for over ten years and as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor for six years, he has garnered enough experience to govern the State.
Mr Akase who advised his supporters against the campaign of calumny and attack on other aspirants promised to run an all-inclusive government with respect to elders, youths, women and other groups of people.
He thanked his colleagues in the journalism profession for supporting him to succeed as the image-maker of the Governor and promised to build on the relationship for the development of the state.
Terver Akase, an editor with the News Directorate of Radio Nigeria headquarters was first appointed in 2015 as Senior Special Assistant to Benue State Governor and later elevated to the position of Chief Press Secretary.
