Akunyili’s killers would face judgment– PMB

President Muhammadu Buhari has enjoined security agencies and leaders of thought to work harder to bring an end to the violence being unleashed on innocent Nigerians.

While reacting to the gruesome murder of Dr. Chike Akunyili, in Onitsha, Anambra State, the President assured grieving families, who lost their loved ones in the incident that the perpetrators of the heinous act will face both the judgment of man and that of God.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, says President Buhari is deeply saddened by the horrific killing of the husband of the late former Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Professor Dora Akunyili.

The President recalled the fond memories he has of working with the late Dora Akunyili at the Petroleum Trust Fund, saying that Nigerians will never forget the memory of the amazon, who distinguished herself as a courageous, dependable, and patriotic citizen.

In a separate statement from the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Buhari also commiserates with the Katsina Emirate Council on the passing of Sarkin Sharifan Katsina, Alhaji Abba Jaye.

The President also extends condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, who was a pillar of support to this administration, offering timely advice and supporting several charitable organizations in his community.

The President prays Almighty Allah to reward his good deeds with paradise and comfort his beloved family.
