George Floyd statue in New York City defaced

The sculpture designed to honor George Floyd in New York City has been defaced for a second time.

Police say, paint was cast on the statue just two days after it was set up in Union Square.

The 6ft (2m) tall statue of Floyd was on display in Brooklyn, where it was vandalized with black paint.

African-American man was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest after a store clerk.

His death incited a wave of global protests over racial justice.

According to BBC, Security footage shows a man holding a skateboard and mixing paint behind the sculpture before getting on his skateboard, splattering it across the face of the statue and riding away.
