Pupils of Government Primary School Tokulo, in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory have received educational materials to aid learning in the school.
Delivering the materials to the Head Teacher of the school Mr Danjuma Caleb, the Founder of a Non Governmental Organization El Roi Lily Foundation Mrs Princess Ediale, said the gesture was to support the parents at meeting the academic needs of their kids as they returned to school.
Mrs Ediale who decried the high rate of out of school children in the country, explained that the Organization over the years had been empowering vulnerable children to ensure that every child have access to education, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on Child Right Act, of which Nigeria is signatory.
Addressing the pupils, Mrs Ediale said “God created you all with a purpose, today we brought you this educational materials, to encourage you to take your academic life seriously so that you can be fulfilled, learn to count your numbers and alphabets, make sure you make good use of the textbooks, listen to your teachers and pray to God always for assistance”
El Roi Lily Foundation is a Non Governmental Organization that support students, especially the less privileged with academic materials, to reduce the rate of school drop outs in the country.
The Founder of the NGO, while commending the Federal Government on its efforts at addressing academic deficit in the country especially during the recent outbreak of COVID-19, appealed that more budgetary allocation should be channeled towards the Education sector, to ensure that quality graduates that can compete favourably with their counterpart in the global market are produced.
Receiving the items, which includes; textbooks, writing materials, bags, shoes, lunch bags and flask among others, the head teacher of the school, Mr Danjuma Caleb appreciated the Organization for its good gesture and assured efficient use of the materials to achieve the purpose.
