Over one thousand journalists are converging on Umuahia the Abia State Capital for the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
Umuahia is witnessing a beehive of activities as journalists across the country trooped into the town for the Confernce.
Following the expiration of the tenure of office of the incumbent, new leadership is expected to emerge.
The President of the NUJ Mr Chris Isiguzo in a statement said the Ex – Parte Order obtained from the National Industrial Court by some members in Ogun state restraining the union from holding the conference, had been vacated by the court in Ibadan.
This development according to Isiguzo had cleared all encumbrances for the union to go ahead with the delegates conference.
