The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has directed Muslims in the country to start looking for the new moon of Rabiu Awwal on Thursday the seventh of October 2021 equivalent to the Islamic calendar. 29, 1443 AH after the hijra.
In a statement by the chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaid, in Sokoto state.
The statement says if sighted the information should be forwarded to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to the sultanate.
