Jake Epelle emerges president of Albinism Association of Nigeria

Mr. Jake Epelle has emerged as the maiden President of the Albinism Association of Nigeria.

 In a statement by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Albinism Association of Nigeria, Mrs. Josephine Omolola described the Virtual contest as free, fair, and credible with the supervision of the European Union and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

She noted that over one hundred and fifty-five voters were accredited across thirty states that participated.

She noted that the election was to give the association a right to pursue inclusion in every area of the society for people with albinism and disability.

She, however, advocated the use of electronic voting ahead of the 2023 general election which she describes as a credible and reliable system that can guarantee integrity in the electoral process.

Mrs. Omolola commended the European Union and the Independent Electoral Commission for the guidance and supervision during the election.

Some of the elected officers are;; President, Jake Epelle, who pulled a total of 83 votes, Mariya Ishaka, 81 for the position of Vice president while Daniel Onah,  82 votes to clinch the General secretary.

Others are, Abimbola Oluwasegun ,55 votes for the position of Assistant general Secretary, Nnoye Ogbuagu 82 to emerge as the Welfare officer, Abel Mvendaga, 71 to emerge as financial secretary while Peace Onuri and Saimaila Salisu 30 and 51 Votes to emerge as the position of Treasurer and Public Relations Officer.

The President-Elect of the Association expressed joy over his mandate nad said People with Albinism and disabilities  will be given equal opportunities in the society and noted that the welfare and societal inclusiveness of his members will be paramount of his administration.
