Zamfara state government has approved the distribution of twenty trucks of assorted rice to ameliorate the sufferings of citizens over the recent security measures taken by the state government.
Each of the fourteen local governments of the state will receive one truck of one thousand two hundred bags of rice except Gusau which has two trucks, while the remaining five trucks will be distributed to internally displaced persons and people with special needs.
Chairman of the main distribution committee, Alhaji Aminu Sanin Jaji announced this during a meeting with fourteen local government sub committees at government house Gusau said the distribution is widening beyond political inclination.
He reiterated that the main distribution committee will monitor the local government sub committees to ensure justice in distributing the food items.
Alhaji Aminu Sanin Jaji also announced receiving of other palliatives from the Federal Ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development which comprises rice, beans, vegetable oil, salt, cartons of tomatoes and clothing materials that would be distributed to people.
