76 suspects have been paraded by the Borno State Police Command for various offenses.
Addressing the press at the headquarters of the Command in Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police Abdu Umar said the crimes included criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, possession of dangerous weapons, and forgery.
CP Abdu Umar said among the suspects are 2 members of Civilian JTF; Saleh Mohammed and Umar Sulieman attached to Sector 9 arrested for allegedly stabbing one Abubakar Ahmed on his stomach who died on the spot.
The deceased, Abubakar Ahmed who was the Head Teacher of Asheikh Jarma Model School Bulumkutu, Maiduguri Metropolis was killed on October 11 in his house at Bulumkutu Abuja.
The commissioner also explained that 3 other suspects have been arrested for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping in Yaulari village, Biu Local Government Area.
The suspects kidnapped the son of one Alhaji Abdul Ganshipa and demanded the sum of N10 million but subsequently collected N500,000.
“After some days, the victim identified his trouser collected from him by his abductors in possession of one Dauda Musa alias Daddy who confessed and led crack detectives to Biu leading to the arrest of the 2 other suspects”, CP Umar said.
The suspects were paraded for crimes committed within the last 1 month across the states.
