The Federal Government has commenced the Mobile Money Agents Training Programme as part of efforts to sustain the social inclusion agenda of President Buhari’s administration to lift Nigerians out of poverty.
At the inauguration in Abuja for beneficiaries in the FCT and the North Central Zone, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouq said the programme targets 1,850 youths selected from the 36 States and FCT and in collaboration with Shared Agency Network Expansion Facility (SANEF).
”We hope that the programme will provide job opportunities to the 1,850 youths selected from the 36 States and FCT as well as promote financial inclusion, by providing financial services to unserved Nigerians,” she said.
Upon completion of the training, beneficiaries will be provided with Stat-up Kits and the sum of N20,000.
Upon completion of the training, the target beneficiaries will be registered with the Shared Agency Network Expansion Facility (SANEF) as Mobile Money Agents and be provided with Stat-up Kits that include a Point-of-Sale (POS) Machine, Fingerprint Scanner, Furniture and the sum of N20,000.
