The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has called on Nigerian Youth to shun street demonstrations, social media lamentation, and move to the ballot box to achieve what it described as ballot revolution.
Kwara State Chairman of the YPP, Mr Charles Folayan made this call in Ilorin, during a peaceful rally to mark the one-year remembrance of the #EndSARS protest.
Mr. Folayan said for Nigerian Youth to take their rightful place in the scheme of things, they must shun social media sensationalism and violence in all ramifications.
He maintained that the younger generation will no doubt inherit the country, however, the challenges facing Nigeria and Nigerians at this moment in time can not be solved by blame game or dissemination of fake news on social media but rather embark on holistic approaches.
The YPP implored the youth across the nation to work together to usher in, credible leaders with new ideas, innovation, energy to galvanize the productive skills of the youth to generate solutions.
While reminding the proverbial leaders of tomorrow that there is no polling unit on social media, he advised those who do not have Permanent Voters Card, PVC to go and obtain their’s, noting that it is part of patriotism.
Mr. Folayan said that the YPP will continue to sensitize youth in the country on the need to take their destiny into their own hands by grooming a new generation of leaders and remaining steadfast in conducting themselves peacefully.
