CAF: Enyimba, Rivers United get opponent

Two Nigerian Clubs playing Continental Football Enyimba International and Rivers United now know their opponents in the next round of the CAF Club Football.

In the draw held on Tuesday at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo Egypt, Enyimba will face Sudanese Al Ittihad Sporting Club in the play-off of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Enyimba reached the play-off after thrashing  Diambers FC of Senegal 4-0 on aggregate in the second preliminary round.

The 1st leg of the match will be played at the Wad Madani Stadium, on November 28 while the return leg will hold in Aba Stadium, on 5th December, 2021.

Nigeria’s other representative on the Continent; Rivers United will face Egyptian Al Masry Sporting Club also in the play-off draw.

Rivers United were demoted to play in the continent’s second tier league after they crashed out of the CAF Champions League second round in a 2-1 aggravate defeat to Al Hilal over the weekend.

The NPFL side will host the first leg on November 29, 2021 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt while the reverse leg will hold at the Port Said Stadium, Egypt on December 5th.

The winner of the two matches for both sides will qualify for the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
