The Group general manager of the NNPC’s public affairs division, Mr. Garba Deen Muhammad Tuesday demanded Nigerians stop panic-buying fuel when they don’t need it as he insisted there isn’t a shortage in petroleum products.

“The NNPC Ltd hereby urges the general public not to engage in panic buying of petroleum products, as the Company has sufficient stock of the products that will last the festive period and beyond, he said

He further stated that the NNPC is also engaging all stakeholders to ensure the smooth supply and distribution of products to every part of the country.

Most petroleum major marketers in the FCT were dispensing petroleum products to customers without queues against rumours of scarcity of the products in the FCT.

Our Correspondent who went round some of the petroleum stations within the FCT metropolis last night however observed that  Independent Marketers were closed.

On Monday, reports indicate that most of the Independent Marketers were not selling the commodity since afternoon, raising fears of impending scarcity.

The Correspondent also observed that some hawkers were seen selling the commodity in jerricans around some petroleum stations, heightening the fears of the products among FCT motorists.
