3 days of mourning have been declared in Lagos State by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the Ikoyi building collapse, which occurred on Monday.
38 persons are believed to have died in the incident.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, all flags are to be flown at half-mast in public and private buildings and official engagements canceled during the mourning period.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has visited the site 3 times to encourage rescuers and console relations of those who are believed to have been trapped in the building.
He was today at the hospital to cheer up those injured before swearing in a 6-man panel of inquiry to investigate the incident and recommend measures to prevent such recurrence.
