River Angel loses first CAF champions league match

Nigeria’s representative at the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Rivers Angels lost their opening game at the competition. 

The 2021 Nigeria Women’s Premier League champions were thrashed 3-0 by Moroccan club, Association’s Sports of Forces Armed Royal, ASFAR FC on Saturday evening in Egypt.

Sanaa Mssoudy made history as she registered the first hat-trick in the Champions League.

The defeat leaves the Rivers Angels in the bottom of Group B after South Africa side.

Mamelodi Sundowns pipped Vihiga Queens 1-0 in the first group B match.

Rivers Angels will take on the Mamelodi Sundowns in their second Group B match on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

The first edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League is holding in Egypt.
