The collation of results of the supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government of Anambra State is in progress.
Accreditation and voting started behind schedule due to late deployment of personnel and materials.
As at 1.50pm, the distribution of materials was still going on at the INEC office in Ihiala Local Government Area.
However, there was heavy security personnel, including army, police, DSS, as well as FRSC officials at the Distribution Centre.
Radio Nigeria observed low turnout of voters at some polling units.
The Polling Officer at Unit 004, Urban Primary School, Ihiala, Miss Chinasa Ajah said election materials arrived by 12noon, while fingerprints and facial capturing were used in authenticating voters.
A voter at Umuezedam Town Hall, Okija, Mr Chibueze Okezie told our Correspondents that election officials and materials arrived around 1:00 pm and that there were challenges with the BVAS machine before he was accredited.
Chief Sam Obiejesi, who spoke after casting his vote, urged INEC to improve the workability of its system and ensure early distribution of materials in future elections.
