Anglican Primate tasks politicians on poverty alleviation

Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican communion Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba wants Political office holders to concentrate on ways to address the current security and economic challenges in the country rather than campaign for 2023 general election.

Addressing the opening of this year’s Anglican Divine Commonwealth Conference in Abuja, Archbishop Ndukuba expressed concern over the attitude of some elected and appointed office holders putting little efforts to support the various initiatives of the federal government to alleviate the plight of Nigerians.

He called on them to come up with measures to address unemployment, and address insecurity.

According to him, what Nigerians needed mostly now is conducive environment to carry out legitimate activities.

He maintained that intake of hard drugs has gone beyond adult as primary and secondary school students as well as women were more involved.

The Anglican Primate stressed that the Church would lead a strong campaign against drug abuse as part of efforts to promote peace and unity in the country.
