Missing journalist, Tordue found dead

Tordue Salem, a reporter with the Vanguard Newspaper who has been missing for more than 3 weeks, was discovered dead in Abuja.

As of 9.30 pm Thursday, details about the circumstances surrounding the recovery of his remains remained hazy.

Salem, covering the House of Representatives, was last seen on October 13.

After work that day, he was said to have gotten out of a taxi at a Total filling station near the Force headquarters and gone to BJ’s garden with a female relative.

Following that, he supposedly called down another taxi for the lady who had left before him, informing her that he was heading to Area 8, Garki.

Salem was never seen again until Thursday when his body was discovered.

On October 16, the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) was notified of Salem’s inexplicable disappearance.

Police had given assurance that investigations were on after journalists strongly demanded his whereabouts and staged a protest.
