Nasarawa receives FG’s school feeding equipment

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has handed over 195, 000 utensils to the Nassarawa state Government for beneficiaries of the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme

During the ceremony in Lafia, the state capital the Minister Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouq noted that government will continue to improve service delivery on all its social interventions to achieve its objectives.

Represented by the Deputy Director Audit of the Ministry Mr shaku Longyil, the Minister urged them to make good use the items

“This intervention is only one out of the several strategic plans of our Ministry that seeks to ensure that the target pupils have the best experience of hygiene and safety during their consumption of these free meals. It is my fervent hope and appeal that these items are put to the use for which they were provided, so that these children can benefit more from these interventions

The State Focal Person for NSIP in Nassarawa State Imran Jibrin said the NSIP is one of the best models of Social Security standards and promised that the utensils would get to the desire beneficiaries.

“The Programme started in Nasarawa State in 2019 with a total number of 1200 cooks and 86,329 pupils. At present, we have a total number of 2768 cooks and 194,649 pupils benefitting from the Programme.

A total amount of One Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-Seven Million, Seven Hundred and Sixty-Six Thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty-Seven (N1, 497, 766, 747.00) Naira was expended in Nasarawa State under the Programme from January 2019- October 2021 he said.
