The Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, wants the National Assembly to enact far reaching laws that can check the persistent spate of vote buying in the country’s elections.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, made the call while briefing journalists on the resolution of the National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the party.
Chief Nwanyanwu, while congratulating Professor Charles Soludo, on his victory in the recent governorship election, however raised observations on the credibility of the election due to reported cases of vote buying and other logistics challenges.
Chief Nwanyanwu urged INEC to improve on its new technology, stressing that the party would be open to forming an alliance or merger in the future to deepen the democratic process.
The ZLP National Chairman reiterated the call for State Police to reduce the wave of insecurity in the country and save the 2023 general election from being put in jeopardy.
