Nigerians have been urged to hold on to the country’s motto of ‘Unity and faith, Peace and progress’ in their strides towards peaceful coexistence.
The secretary to the government of the federation Boss Mustapha during the National peace award ceremony said the work of achieving peace in the country should not be left for the government alone.
The secretary to the state government was represented by the Permanent Secretary Political and Economic Affairs, Andrew Adejo.
Delta state Governor was awarded the best governor for peace and conflict resolution and while receiveing the award on behalf of Delta state governor, The commissioner for Information in the state Mr. Charlse Aniagwu said the state government has continuously engaged the youths in the state through various entrepreneurial programmes in other to curtail crime and restiveness.
The convener of the National Peace Awards, National President of an NGO the Messengers of Peace Dr Suleiman Adejoh said efforts for a peaceful coexistence should start from the neighborhood.
Over fifty people from both the Public and private sector received various’ category of awards in this year’s programme.
