The Super Eagles of Nigeria are through to the last qualifying round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Eagles on Tuesday managed a 1-all draw against a resolute Cape Verde side in a match played at the Taslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Striker Victor Osimhen scored the Eagles’ only goal in the first minute of the game but the Cape Verdeans equalised in the 5th minute.
Nigeria is now amongst Africa’s last 10, who will fight for the five slots in March 2022 for the World Cup.
The Eagles have joined Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Mali, Egypt, Ghana and DR Congo in the play-offs.
The play-offs will be determined in home-and-away bases, with the winners of the two legs qualifying for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.
