Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) has verified projects worth ₦639 million at the Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu.
The projects include; construction of a hostel block for the school of post basic Mid-Wifery, two lecture theatres for the School of Post Basic Mid-Wifery, entrance and exit gates, installation of solar street lights and construction of an isolation ward.
A statement by the Head, Strategic Communication Directorate, Bede Anyanwu says the main purpose of the verification is to confirm the existence of the projects, the amount so far expended and the level of work done at the site.
According to the statement, when the audited financial accounts of the centre reveal outstanding operating surplus liability, yet to be remitted to the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) by the centre.
Acting Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu, Dr Lawal Sikiru gave assurance that the outstanding liability of the operating surplus will be sorted out without delay.
