Ogere Inferno: Governor Abiodun to hold contractor responsible

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun says that the contractor handling Lagos-Ibadan expressway would be held accountable for failure to provide safety signs on the road.

Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this during an on-the-spot assessment to the scene of tanker inferno that claimed five lives at Ogere toll gate.

The Governor noted that failure to provide safety signs led to the preventable loss of lives on the high way.

Governor Abiodun called on the contractor handling the project to expedite action and do the needful.

He commended the Federal Road Safety Corps and the fire service for their efforts and prompt response.

Governor Abiodun called on people in the area to stay away from the scene of the accident.

He said arrangements were being made to transfer the petroleum products from the affected truck.

The Governor commiserated with the families of those who died in the inferno.
