President Muhammadu Buhari has directed Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAS, to study the report on effective policy design and implementation observing the relevant recommendations.
The report entitled, “Getting Things Done: Strategies for Policy and Programme Implementation in Nigeria,” was presented to the President by the Senior Executive Course 43 (2021) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Plateau State.
Receiving the report, President Buhari assured the course participants that the report would be treated with the seriousness and urgency it deserved.
Also under the directive is the National Steering Committee on the Vision 2050, which is mandated to incorporate the report as part of over-all execution strategy.
The President noted that his administration had invested great efforts in the provision of good governance and making tremendous progress at getting the desired results.
He said that the report becomes important and timely in Nigeria’s quest to enhance service delivery.
On the importance of NIPSS and its course participants, President Buhari said it was always a delight to receive the input of NIPSS on important issues of great concern to the government and the nation.
The President said no nation would progress without paying close attention to how policies were being developed and implemented.
President Buhari urged the course participants to put to work all they had learned in their various establishments.
The Acting Director-General of NIPSS, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Udaya, had told the President that the 85 participants of the Senior Course 43 of 2021 were distributed into seven groups to interrogate the theme of the study.
