The National Security Council has directed that surveillance be stepped up and security risks on the Abuja-Kaduna route are completely eliminated.
Minister of the Interior, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola, announced this to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday following the conclusion of the council’s meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister said strict and detailed instructions have been issued to security services to alter their operating procedures in order to eradicate all traces of lingering instability in the country.
Alhaji Rauf assured that with President Buhari’s renewed charge, further strategic measures would be implemented to enhance the present responsiveness to distress calls, and asked Nigerians to be prompt and accurate in making such calls.
