The wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has recognized Radio Nigeria Sports Reporter Isaac Afolabi of Positive FM Akure with an award for sports development.

The prize honours Afolabi’s efforts in promoting and organizing an annual summer basketball competition for children in the State.

The prize was established by the Governor’s wife as part of the 3rd summit of the Foundation of Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees, FOWOSO, which was held in Akure, Ondo State’s capital.

Individuals who commit their entire lives to the cause of children, particularly girls, should be recognized and commended, according to the Governor’s wife.

The deputy governor of Ondo state, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa, who presented Mr Afolabi with the award, encouraged him not to give up on giving back to the youth through sports and education, noting that such a gesture would assist the state and country harvest talents in the near future.

Mr Afolabi expressed gratitude to Radio Nigeria for creating the culture of reaching out to the grassroots, stating that his passion for sports and education was to expose youth to stardom.
