Cristiano Ronaldo scores 800th career goal

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Facebook to celebrate his becoming the first player to score 800 career goals.

The Portugal superstar bagged a brace against Arsenal to help Manchester United secure 3-2 win over the North London side on Thursday night.

The 36-year-old striker reached the milestone as he put the hosts 2-1 up in the second half, converting Marcus Rashford’s cross.

He then added his 801st goal from the penalty spot to seal the 3-2 win over the Mikel Arteta-tutored Gunners.

Taking to his Facebook page, the former Real Madrid and Juventus star wrote: ” Very happy to become the first football player to score more than 800 official goals. What an amazing and unforgettable run this is becoming… Thank you to all my supporters for always standing by my side. 801 and still counting! Let’s keep stretching this number and breaking every possible record! Let’s do it together, I’m counting on all of you!”
