49 lives lost to Kano fire disasters in November

No fewer than 49 people in Kano have lost their lives to different disasters in the month of November 2021.

Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service Saminu Abdullahi made the disclosure while briefing newsmen.

According to him, 80 people were saved by the rescue team of the fire service during the month under review.

The public relations officer explained that properties lost to fire disasters stood at ₦28,697,650 while properties worth over ₦60 million were saved.

Saminu Abdullahi pointed out that, the state fire service received 80 fire distress calls 62 rescue calls, and 19 false alarms across the 27 fire stations.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Red Cross Society has organised a capacity-building workshop for staff of the agency to upgrade their services according to international standards.
