FG cautions airlines on revised travel protocols

Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu, has warned international airlines against defaulting on the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19’s amended Provisional Quarantine guidelines for travellers.

He said the defaulting airline will be fined $3,500 per passenger and risk being barred from flying in Nigeria.

The NCAA issued this warning in a letter mailed to international flights arriving and exiting Nigeria.

According to the letter, airlines are only permitted to board passengers travelling to Nigeria who have a paid permit to travel with a QR Code and the result of a negative COVID-19 test performed within 48 hours of boarding.

Outbound passengers must show proof of either full COVID-19 immunization or a negative COVID-19 test performed at a Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) authorized laboratory within 48 hours of boarding.
