Bandits kill 9 in separate attacks in Kaduna

Bandits have killed 9 people while two injured in separate attacks across Chikun, Zaria, and Zangon Kataf Local Government areas of Kaduna State.

In a statement by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan says 3 people were killed when bandits barricaded the Buruku-Udawa section of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road in Chikun Local Government while 1 person, identified as Jamilu Kafinta Udawa, sustained gunshot injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.

According to the Statement, in the Yola-Kadi general area in Chikun Local Government, bandits killed 1 Danjuma Maiungwa and left another resident injured.

It says bandits also killed 2 people in Sako village in Zangon Kataf Local Government, stressing that, 2 corpses were discovered by a patrol team in the Kurfi-Magamiya general area .

The statement further explains that, in Zaria Local Government, 1 Alhaji Habibu was shot dead by bandits in Saye village.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness over the reports and prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attacks, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The Governor conveyed his deepest sympathies to the victims’ families and called on security forces to intensify operations against criminal elements across the state.
