The minister of Sports and Youth Development Mr, Sunday Dare identified the development of Sports at the grassroots as key to youths empowerment, which would help reduce social vices in the society.
The minister who was represented by Mr, Jonathan Audu in the ministry, urged the youths to take advantage of the International Standard Centre for Development, ISCD to better their lives
Earlier the National Chairman of ISCD, Mr, Akomolafe Damina said the aim of establishing the football academy was to discover young talents for national development.
The chief of Dagiri Community, in Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Saidu Ndako, thanked the organisation for the gesture and pledged the support of the traditional institution to youths empowerment programmes.
Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of football kits and other items to the Academy.
