FG inaugurate resettlement project in Nasarawa

The Resettlement city, rehabilitation and reintegration project has also been inaugurated for construction in Nasarawa State with the Support of the state government.

This is coming days after the recent inauguration in Zamfara State.

The resettlement city will have educational learning centres, religious centres, health facilities, recreational parks, skill acquisition centres as well as security stations. It will also have basic amenities and be attached to social services that support their reintegration

At the inauguration in the Pyanko area in Keffi the National Commissioner National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced restated that the idea behind the project, was conceived by the Commission to tackle the Housing deficit for Persons of Concern in the county.

Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim thanked the state government for allocating the land for the commencement of the project assured of the government’s commitment towards protecting the dignity and well-being of persons of concern.

The Nasarawa State Governor, Mallam Abdullahi Sule said the project is in line with the State goal to better the lives of its people.

“I want to thank Mr. President and the Minister for giving you the approval to execute this project. I understand it’s going to be a pilot project of Half a billion Naira and so it is huge for us. In Nasarawa State every time we have such an opportunity where you are having a model such as this which is really similar to our LLTP which we are having on the way it’s not going to be a residential area but it is also going to be school, security, water supply and market”

Emir of Keffi Dr Yamusa Chindo the third assured that the necessary support would be accorded to ensure the success of the project and appealed to leaders to uplift and care for the underprivileged in the society.
