President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a one-day official visit.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the first flyover bridge, located at the northeastern segment of Maiduguri, and a twenty kilometer dualised highway from under the flyover to Muna town.
The President, who alighted from the Presidential plane at about 12 pm, was received by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Governor El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State, Minister of Defence, retired Major General Bashir Magashi, former Governors Ali Modu Sheriff and Kashim Shetimah as well as members of the National Assembly from the state, some Service Chiefs and a philanthropic businessman Alhaji Muhammad Indimi.
President buhari will also inaugurate a new multi-million naira, ultra-modern centre for distance learning, situated on the campus of the University of Maiduguri, built by Alhaji Indimi.
Also to be commissioned by the President, is a hangar, a presidential suite at the Maiduguri airport, also built by Alhaji Indimi, as well as Tijjani Bolori Primary School, built by the state government.
President Buhari is expected to pay a courtesy visit to the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi.
Also, he is expected to address troops of Operation Hadin-kai before returning to Abuja.
