Dr John Elaigwu has emerged as the new Och’Idoma through an election following the inability of stakeholders to arrive at a consensus candidate.
Securing 19 of the 28 votes cast by the kingmakers Dr Elaigwu defeated, a Federal Permanent Secretary with the Ministry of Education, Dr Sunny Echono who secured 8 votes.
The New Idoma Paramount Leader who is from Obagaji, Agatu Local Government Area is to replace Dr Elias Obekpa who has gone on a permanent hunting expedition.
