NSCDC arrests two suspects with adulterated PMS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested two suspects and impounded a truck laden with thirteen thousand litres of a petroleum product suspected to be adulterated diesel in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The Commandant of the Corps in the State, Mr Terrumun Gbue stated this while parading the suspects before newsmen  at the Command’s Headquarters Abakaliki.

Mr Gbue explained that the suspects were intercepted at Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway by the Corps operatives.

He noted that they failed to present a document establishing where the product was lifted from.

Mr Gbue emphasized that the Command was determined in line with its core mandate to checkmate vandalism, maintaining that the suspects would be prosecuted after investigations.

The suspects who gave their names as Chukwuemeka Ezenna and Onyekachi Ugwu said they were asked to supply the product to GSM Mast Stations located in Yahe in Cross River State.

They denied involvement in any illegal activity as being alleged.
