All is set for Mark D Basketball championship in Abuja

The city of Abuja is set to host this year’s annual Mark D Ball Basketball championship.

According to the organisers of the championship, the event which features men and women basketball teams drawn from Nigeria and other West African countries will also incorporate a Kiddies coaching clinic.

The clinic is geared towards drawing hundreds of young children to the event to learn the rudiments of the game.

The Executive Director, Mark Sports Foundation and Initiator of Mark D, Igoche Mark in a chat with media men in Abuja, explained that this year’s edition has been improved upon from a tournament to a championship and would therefore offer something bigger than previous editions.

16 women and 20 men teams would be participating in the tournament.

The opening ceremony of the Championship is scheduled for Saturday 15th January 2022 at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

 The women’s Championship will kick off on the first day and run till the 22nd of January.

The men’s version will commence from January 22 to April 23 2022 at the same venue.

Some of the Personalities to grace the occasion include 2Face, Joe El, Magnito, Chudy K, Ice Prince and Mark Owie.

Others are Obi Cubana, Nedu Wazobia and Big Smart.
