The Federal Government says plans have reached advanced stage to launch another Nigeria Communications Satellite to orbit.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Pantami stated this while on a visit to the Headquarters of the Nigeria Communications Satellite Company in Abuja.
Professor Patami while addressing staff of the Company said the budgetary allocation had been made but certain modalities had been put in place to ensure its launch this year.
Professor Pantami said Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited was a priority for the Federal Government therefore its operations needed to be upgraded to be customer centric for efficient services to the nations Communications sector stakeholders.
The Managing Director of the Company, Mrs Abimbola Alale had admonished staff to be dedicated to their duty as the company was a crucible for every critical sector of the economy.
The Minister’s visit featured a tour of the NIGCOMSAT facility such the Television satellite company ultra modern control room and a Communication-On-The-Move vehicle, a mobile unit that provides internet services through broadband access.
