The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has been urged to ensure that new registrants in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, get their Permanent Voter Cards before the Council elections scheduled for next month.
The Executive Director Centre for Transparency and Advocacy, Miss Faith Nwadishi gave the advice while speaking with journalists in Abuja.
She said though, INEC had come up with the list of the registered voters and the expanded polling units but people can only vote if they have their cards with them.
She expressed the hope that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BIVAS to be deployed by the Commission would work effectively.
Miss Nwadishi called on the Civil Society Organizations and the political parties to sensitize the electorate on the need to collect their PVCs before the commencement of the exercise.
