President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to ensure things are done right and “he is absolutely committed to the progress of the people and the country”, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
He stated this on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, when he met a delegation of the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (CWON) led by their President, Dame Mary Asibi Gonsum.
Prof Osinbajo said “one thing that is certain is that there is a determination on the part of the president to ensure that things are done right.
He emphasized the importance of civic and social leadership in addressing the country’s challenges while addressing the public’s concerns.
There would be times a country is faced with challenges, it is the leadership and not just political leadership, but I mean civic and religious leaderships such as yourselves who rise in support of the country by way of prayers, encouragement, and admonition”, VP Osinbajo told the women.
He extended gratitude to the delegation, who he said had travelled from all around the country to pay the visit.
Dame Mary praised President Muhammadu Buhari for “the proactive and far-reaching policies and actions of the administration as it impacts the battle against corruption, terrorism and insurgency as well as banditry,” which she described as “progressive.”
