Yobe State command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested 3 suspects including a military personnel for house breaking and armed robbery in Damaturu the state capital.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer ASP Dungus Abdulkarim.
The suspects according to the statement include Hassan Abdulhafiz (22), a military personnel attached to Nigerian Army Sector 2 Headquarters, Operation HadinKai, Mustapha Abubakar (19) of Nayi-Nawa ward and Samaila Salmanu (25) of Sabon-Pegi ward all in Damaturu.
The statement says the suspects invaded the resident of one Hajiya Aisha Usman of Sabon-Pegi-ward with weapons including an AK 47 rifle and succeeded in inflicting serious injuries on the victim and her son, Ahmed Umar (17) years after tying them up.
The culprits carted away with the following items at gunpoint; ₦250,000, 307 Peugeot Saloon Car, and a mobile phone.
Two of the suspects were arrested in Damaturu and the third suspect was arrested in Darazo, Bauchi State while in possession of the robbed car.
According to the statement, the items recovered include the 307 Peugeot car, ₦76,000 left from the money robbed and mobile phone.
All the suspects have since confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted after the investigation, the statement further said.
